Description
I combed the beach on my birthday finding rare unbroken sand dollars, intact shells, and starfish. My secret desire was for a marble. It was a heart-wish, one that only God knows. Later that day we visited the glass shop. Intricate hand blown floats hung from the ceiling and filled huge baskets with iridescent light. Scattered across the concrete floor were small round multicolored glass marbles. The owner said it had never happened before. One of the blowers had snipped off the ends of the molten floats, which rolled across the floor turning into marble sized spheres. She picked a few up for me to look at. As I admired them she asked me if I would like to have them. I told her it was my birthday, would love to have them, and thanked her for her kindness. She did not know she had fulfilled my secret wish, nor how amazing it was that all the circumstances of the day, added up to my eight ethereal treasures. He cares!
